Conference Speakers Invitation
May 2017 is set to become the most exciting and interesting date for Queenslanders interested in local and family history with the second Queensland state conference combining family and local history scheduled to take place over three days – May 19 to 21.
Following the success of the inaugural conference in 2015, the Gold Coast Family History Society Inc., supported by History Queensland Inc., has undertaken the organisation of the 2017 conference, to be held on the Gold Coast. An exciting three-day convention is planned with a variety of dynamic speakers covering a diverse range of topics, as well as a free-to-the-public family and local history fair filled with displays and stalls from a wide range of traders, organisations, and societies.
Conference attendees will have access to a program covering a number of compelling and educational family and local history topics. Presentations in both streams will deliver sessions that will inspire and challenge both individual researchers, and local and family history societies.
The organising committee would like to invite you to submit one or more proposals to present in either stream – family or local history. The following guidelines for presentations should be noted.
Two presentations, one on family history and one on local history, may be scheduled concurrently, and conference participants may choose to attend either presentation. Audio visual equipment will be available and access to wireless broadband internet in the conference rooms.
If you are interested in submitting a proposal, please complete the speaker proposal form and send it to the Conference Planning Committee, via email to: email@example.com
or by mail to:
2017 State Conference, Post Office Box 2763, Southport QLD 4215 by 30 August 2016.
The Committee reserves the right to select speakers for the Conference.
You will receive advice as soon as possible after selections are made, and will then be entitled to a free conference registration. We plan to notify speakers by the end of October 2016.
Further Conference details and speaker information will be made available as it comes to hand on the Conference website.
